Community,
 My name is
Monique Salter and I have been a part of our stepping community for
six years. I am the founder of The Step
and Think Pink Breast
Cancer Awareness Foundation. Our mission is to offer assistance
to people who are having financial difficulties as a result of
having breast cancer. We also want to raise awareness about the
disease and the importance of early detection.
WE ARE
STEPPIN AGAINST THE ODDS OF BREAST CANCER.
October 2008:
Breast Cancer Awareness Month was an awesome month for the foundation. We
launched the website and we received an out pouring of emails and phone calls
and support from across the nation. We want to send a very special thank you to
the people that have signed on to be our “Breast Friends”. We look forward to

Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable moment during October
was being a vendor at After 7’s monthly Steppin Set at The Dorchester. During
the set, I had a very personal and heart-felt conversation with fellow stepper
Leslie Roberts about her on-going battle with cancer. I truly believe that there
is no such thing as a mere coincidence, it was meant for us to meet. As a result
of that conversation, the foundation will be participating in a bone marrow
drive for Leslie during the month of December.

November Activities:
We are excited to announce our participation in the Chicago Steppers Convention
(CSC), being held Thanksgiving weekend, November 28 – 30, 2008 in Chicago. We
need volunteers to assist with distributing information to raise awareness about
the benefits of early detection and we want convention attendees to show their
support by wearing one of our pink ribbons & purchasing a Pink Lollipop. We will
also have t-shirts available. Please purchase & wear your t-shirt to the blue
jean set on Sunday 11/30 at The Burbank Manor. ACS Property Management
(foundation sponsor) will be donating $1.00 per every person that wears a Step
and Think Pink T-Shirt to the event. We Need Your Help To Make It Happen!!!.

Get Well Soon - Jawanda Ware
Jawanda Ware, fellow stepper was recently in a car accident. Jawanda was helping
to organize the bone marrow drive for Leslie. Our prayers are with Jawanda and
her family. We wish her a very speedy recovery.
